LLG are looking to appoint a Deputy Junior National Lead to work alongside the existing two leads in this area. The appointment would run for one year from the April AGM 2020 to 2021. At the 2021 AGM it would be envisaged that the appointment would be nominated as the Junior Director with a seat on the LLG board from the AGM 2021 to 2022.
National Leads operate as the authoritative voice of local government law in their field and focus on consultations, campaign engagement, working groups and stakeholder engagement where appropriate and with flexibility. Support and direction are provided by the Head of Public Affairs. The post runs for a period of 1 year as a non-director position but it is envisaged, subject to performance, that the successful candidate will be nominated to the 2021 AGM as Junior Director with a seat on the LLG board for a 1 year term. This will provide you with the opportunity to gain career enhancing strategic board experience alongside significantly experienced directors.
Whilst the post is non-remunerated, expenses may be provided to attend events where agreed in advanced. You can also expect direct access to our corporate partners and enhanced access to apply for funding to attend training.You will also be invited to a yearly 'Away Day' to meet the other National Leads and Branch Representative to discuss topical issues and receive training. You may also have the opportunity to attend the Weekend School dependant upon your engagement.
You would be expected o work with the existing Junior National Leads to promote Junior Lawyers, engage with training events and feed in content, provide articles, utilise social media, and learn about the work of LLG.
