Assistant Land Registrar - HM Land Registry, Durham
As an Assistant Land Registrar you will be part of a national team of lawyers known as Land Registration Lawyers, providing legal and technical advice to our skilled staff of land registration professionals based in 14 offices throughout England and Wales.

Working with others, you will deliver the wider Legal and Assurance Directorate business objectives and manage a varied caseload of complex and sensitive cases, complaints and financial claims under the land registration legislation.
You must be qualified to practise as a Solicitor or Barrister in England and Wales or be a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. There are no minimum post-qualification experience requirements but you will need to demonstrate that you have, or can quickly acquire, sound knowledge of land registration, land law and conveyancing.
We are looking for applicants with legal professional skills who can exercise sound judgement to reach effective decisions quickly and who will play a vital part in delivering the first-class legal services HM Land Registry needs as we transform into a digital organisation.
Our Durham office is set in leafy grounds but located close to the busy centre of historic Durham. The city's medieval cathedral and castle are a designated World Heritage Site, with the latter home to one of the country's most prestigious universities. The railway station is on the main line to Newcastle, Edinburgh and London and the A1(M) passes close by.
