About the role
This permanent role sits within our Legal Regulatory and Environment Team and offers high-profile highways and planning work that shapes development, infrastructure and communities across Shropshire. You will provide trusted advice to members and officers and support lawful, effective decision-making across the Council.
You will join a collaborative team with a varied caseload and scope to develop your expertise. There may also be opportunities to work across wider regulatory matters including housing, licensing and employment. We welcome applications from lawyers with experience in, or a strong interest in developing, one or more of the following areas:
- Planning – section 106 agreements, appeals, judicial review, enforcement and related advisory work
- Highways – section 38 and section 278 agreements, stopping up orders, Highways Act notices, rights of way and related advisory work
About you
We are looking for a motivated, solution-focused lawyer who can build strong relationships, give clear advice and manage a varied workload confidently. You may already have relevant experience or bring transferable skills and the ambition to develop further in a supportive team.
